Surfer dad teaching his young sons to surf at Fitzroy Beach, New Plymouth, Taranaki. It’s early summer here and this is a typical NZ summer sight.

This beach is only 4 blocks from my parent’s house where I often work. I try to visit this beach most days when working at the folks place. It’s a popular swimming and surf beach and also home to the East End Surf Lifesaving Club.

It’s a typical west coast North Island volcanic black sand beach. Taranaki is home to some of New Zealand’s best surf breaks; and we all know how much David likes surfing.
